We Need Your Help!

The book is a 2009 ‘snapshot’ of what we know about the marine fishes that live around the Welsh coast. We are still trying to find out more about the species that are found around Wales. We are also interested in unusual fish records and information. Some fish are very difficult to identify, others only rarely seen. If you are prepared to let us know what you find or see and would be interested in provide more data then you can input any records or observations at:

If you have images of fish that you would like identified then please contact us by email before forwarding any image files so that we can recommend useful files sizes. We are also interested in photos to use on this website.

The Welsh names used in the book and on this website are the ‘standard’ name but we are also interested in any other Welsh names, their derivation (if known) and locality in which they are (or were) used. If you know any names other than those shown then do please let us know them by email.
